I’m not denying that the original games weren’t full of schlock, part of what made the characters engaging (particularly in DMC3), were how over the top and stupid it all was. There was little to no character development that wasn’t inexplicably tied to some crazy action scene and it was all very much B-Movie acting…

I’ve finished it quite a few times. By far the worst thing about the game is the characters and how they are presented. The gameplay is amazing and I take my hat off to Ninja Theory for managing to nail the most important thing, but I didn’t care for any of the personalities in that game.

I don’t think swearing more means it’s a more darker/serious product. If anything it created the opposite vibe for me. It was just bad writing as well imo. No one talks like that.

It was just jarring to people who’ve played the original. I don’t think anyone who felt the swearing was a little cringe felt that way because they are being overly sensitive, more that it felt out of place with what we’ve experienced with the original game. Why have you capitised the O? Anyway... Takedown still looks way funner than this game, mostly because it 100% no-nonsense straight to the point gameplay that doesn’t try to hide behind a poorly written and acted plot attached to it.
