With you on the Switch. There’s been more stuff of interest on there than any other system lately. I think it’s been about a year since I last turned my ps4 on. The PC was getting some love for a while and I’ll get back to it at some point or another. But damn, I love me some Switch time. 

Yeah, I’m not trying to tell other people what to do with their game time. I was playing Destiny 2 right up to a month or so before the new expansion. It’s just when I see which way things are headed and what they will mean for the future, it kinda churns my stomach a bit.

Assets like textures, modeling etc. live on your HD. The server can handle a variety of things from game to game. Usually stuff related to connecting with other players. But sometimes AI and other things. But nothing that requires sending massive gobs of data constantly, like textures.

Right. I mean, I read the article. The point was that a game full of trash weapons and armor etc. developed strictly to feed the appearance of progress entails that a ton of those 4k textures are utterly pointless. Thus the bloated size of games is totally unnecessary and only a result of the way many game companies…

The consensus on this, and the sheer number of people coming out as banned on Jez, has been absolutely delightful. I got banned around a year ago and had no idea there was such an epidemic.
