There can be a snowball effect once elections start happening. It’s not totally unreasonable to use those polls to make some assumptions, with the caveat that it’s still too early to make any definitive claims.

I’ve made it a point to check out more of these “political class” types as they cross my radar. Interviews, backstory, what have you. You get that condescension on both sides. Which makes sense, given that up until somewhat recently both parties were on the same neoliberalism train. Not to say they still aren’t but…

I think you’re giving them a little more credit than they deserve by assuming they could consider anything beyond their gated community.
