I don’t love it, but any time a one of one like this goes up in flames it sucks.

Couldn’t parse that out to the $441 a month it ends up as? Which is an absurd monthly amount for insurance on anything not brand new and very luxury for a teenager.

It’s the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown! (Or is that the Cybertruck?)

$48 an hour to wear a motion capture suit and a VR helmet sounds great in theory, but then my boss would be an insufferable twat that would likely drain all the life from my body.

Top of the line in utility sports

It’s closer to 10 cents or so a gallon, depending on the owner.  But yes the majority of the profit comes from sales of product inside the store.

I would argue the number of gas stations is driven by the profitable convenience stores attached to them, and not due to some rational number of gas pumps needed.

Once again... Buying BRAND NEW EVs doesn’t make financial sense at all UNLESS you’re planning on keeping it for the long term (and even then, it still makes more sense to buy a slightly used one)

I’m just glad that the only time I flew regular economy on a 12+ hour flight was at the height of Covid so the plane was at like 50% capacity at best

For whatever reason, Jalopnik preached that Toyota was slow and stupid with their EV strategy, and they were going to get buried. Naturally this would get debated in the comments, with many on the side of “no they aren’t.”

Wait... They slept for 15 straight hours? And took the middle and aisle seats knowing that they would? That’s just plain (pun?) inconsiderate.

Financially speaking there’s not much left for savings to consumer after a hybrid either. New Camry consumes 300 gallons a year if you drive 15k miles. Even if gas is $5 a gallon you’re barely over $100 a month in fuel. I like EVs as well, wouldn’t discourage them, but there’s diminishing returns if you’re someone who

I would have woke them up, at least after several hours. If they want to sit in their seat the entire flight they should choose a window seat. I used to fly all the time, and flights where I knew I wasn’t planning to get up I would choose the window seat as to not be bothered by other passengers who may want to get up.

I mean I can see getting an EV because you like driving it better (quieter, more zip off the line, higher tech etc.). But even with tax incentives, this is an emotional decision, not a logical. And on purchases as expensive as cars, people actually do use logic (sometimes).

When you distill it down to the bare essence, it’s pretty much “We just don’t wanna.”

Wow - Broken Kitty is still a thing.  Maybe.

1st Gear: The NADA always has the lamest excuses. Taking care of recalls would lead to additional costs for the consumer? Why is that, since the burden of recall costs are on the manufacturer? I guess that means that sled will be on the dealership’s books for an additional week. So, their position is “fuck it, our

Kinda on brand for a guy with that last name.

That’s my retirement plan, buy one of these and sail down to Colombia and ferry adventure folks to cross the Darien gap (got to say, the wife is not too keen on this idea).
