Anyone else kind of expecting to see a mint 90s era Camry (based on the headline), only to be quickly and rudely reminded how freaking old you are?

Hammond had a classic auto restoration shop as a side project, no idea if that’s still a going concern. His other shows tend to be short topical series on things like construction or science themes. Not bad, but more edutainment than entertainment.

In my little section of West Alabama, whenever we have power outages following a massive storm, we offer the utility workers some food and drink while they work to show our appreciation. I’m serious. We usually have our power restored faster than everyone else.

If you can think of a better way to fix a problem than shooting at it, I’d like to hear it!

That’s usually my vacations, except I try to book ahead on bigger town.

I can relate to that, most of our vacations involve areas with more cows than people and a town with a population of 3,000 is a teeming metropolis. An empty ski chalet is getting rarer, lots of places have mountain bike parks now. I live in a mountain town and we actually have more tourists in the summer. 

They make a good point that recycling some of the hardware makes sense given the cost of getting it up there.

I’m a fan of cruises. I think I’ve gone on 4 with various companies. Both with and without kids.

can we please stop saying “stranded” they aren’t stranded at all, they could return anytime, they are simply studying why the thrusters in the service module (that get’s discarded), they could leave at any time.

I think I would take the Jetta and then unload it immediately when the warrantee runs out.

I enjoyed the first season of Clarkson’s farm, but then his public assholery became too much for me. I refuse to watch anything else he’s in. Richard Hammond’s solo efforts don’t do anything for me. James May’s stuff, particularly the Our Man In... series, are really enjoyable.

The idea of being on a boat with 5 thousand people does sound like hell.

Cruise ships aren’t that bad. Just get some friends and just lounge around all day and get fat from the 24hr pizza and ice cream...on second thought maybe they are that bad, but I had fond memories.

I am building up to buy a newer ride for my wife in the next year or two. And it will probably be around the $25k range.
