Northern Maine has some big deer too. But the moose are a different level of big.   If you hit a moose with anything much smaller than a bulldozer, you are in a world of hurt.

There’s a bit of forested area that is on either side of I-65 near downtown.  According to the guy that duct taped the van together for the trip home, a deer impact was at least a weekly event for him.

Why didn’t FSD avoid the Deer?

My wife grew up in rural Maine. Forget the deer, the moose were the real danger. She has really well defined “deer-dar” and will tell me she senses deer and sure enough, it normally isn’t long before you see the tiny bits of eyeshine in the woods.

I have two answers depending on the question.

It’s in the general rules of accounting.  Insurance, upkeep, repair are costs.  New equipment is an investment.   

It is and by a wide margin. But if you go to the academy, you likely don’t have plans to be in industry for 25-30 years. Many US plants are run by ex admirals and same with many significant companies. These are Annapolis grads and have a high reputation.

That’s the part that I’ve been so frustrated by Trump and the Media since 2016.
