What I was saying is if you parked the Prius around its older step sisters, it’s flat out stunning, just like Cinderella and her sisters.

Other than the Thrift Store Boombox not silver, not nickel trim, I don’t find these that bad.  I know where the controls are without looking, everything is easy to find and although the cheaper vehicles have Rubbermaid looking plastic, at least the costs are low.

I struggle with this. Because the answer should be “most of them.” However, it seems like the majority of the ones that actually get enforced are for mods that are more common with minorities.

I still can’t decide about the Prius.

The problem is that merely that Gen Z isn’t being trained in certain trades and skills. It’s that Gen X and the Millennials were not either. I remember specifically in high school (in the 80s) that shop classes were being shut down, while computer skills were being pushed. I remember the entire “learn to code” thing

The fun part is that it’s a statistic. As such, it can be used to tell lies. Companies absolutely will talk up a slowing job market when they come up with raise percentages. Forget the question of these numbers impacting the November election, think of how these effect the raises for companies that work on a September

You can shift straight cut gears. A lot of race transmissions have straight cut. You can hear the darn thing over the engine noise in many cases.

You wouldn’t have fit into that office. When we all wore solid color polo shirts and stood around, it looked like a pool table with all the solid color spheres rolling around.

I’ve always associated herringbones with Citroën. I guess I assume that they used them at least some of their cars.

Dumb question based on the Gif. Are we sure the car was modified to be slammed?

The opposite problem might be out there.  Why is the Fed dropping interest rates?   The answer is that the job market isn’t creating jobs as fast as expected.  So, although your payment might go down because of the lower rates, there is a chance (depending on industry and location) that your paycheck won’t be going up

Actually, it can be made simplier.

It’s not just the criminal justice system. It’s the mental health system as well. If a potential employer figures out you have an issue, then that puts you in the “don’t bother calling back” column.

There’s a bigger factor.

Yes. As a parent, we want to believe the good with our kids. We might suspect, hell know things are going sideways, but deep down, we think “but they are really not that way, it’s just a phase, they are pretty smart, they will calm down soon” and other such self-deception. And even when we accept things have to be

Afford? yes

You are correct.   I tend to mis-read words when they are printed upside down.

The big problem with this statement is that these mental institutions exist in theory and not in reality for far too much of America. The rooms are very limited and the focus is to get people slightly stable and out so they can take in someone that is completely out of control.

I do think that parents do have responsibility for their purchasing choices when they have a child that is dangerous.
