It’s a trade off. I’ve had my car window broken by thieves 3 times and I’ve needed to intentionally break a window to get out of a pond 0 times.
You just needed to know the right setting.
I don’t think this is a Boeing thing.
Modern Civics would do a lot better. 2002 Civics? Not so much. Back then, you paid less money and you took your chances with almost all manufacturers. It wasn’t until the late 2000s that small cars would be recognizable as a car after most crash tests.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out why the obsession with re-inventing the gear shifter. The gear shifter as we know it basically is from the 1910s when they standardized the pedals. Stick on the steering column, dash or floor.

I know that current European standards require a space between the hood and the hard bits in the car so the hood can flatten when someone lands on it and help cushion them.
Teenage boys bounce pretty good and shrug off injuries that would kill a guy in their 30s. Even still, he was lucky as hell. He was hit about 3 weeks in to the school term and came back in the last week using a can and hanging kitchen magnets on the back of his head and his shins as a party trick. Seemed to be in…
