The problem is, people are more likely to move out of Iowa than move to it. So you have decades and generations of “good ol’ boys and girls” (white, racist) that never have to confront difference. When difference comes around, politically or in skin color, they get the eff out.

Yep. The 4th district is very rural and has few metro areas. People are more likely to move out than move in. Especially Liberals. They would rather be in Iowa City or Cedar Rapids or out of the state completely.

Ugh, as a former Iowan, it is truly embarrassing. I want to blame gerrymandering for keeping all of the racist fucks in the 4th district. Most liberals who chose to live in Iowa stick to Cedar Rapids (1st district) / Iowa City (2nd district), or they move out completely (like me, currently in Chicago).
