I think I'd give Reconstruction Site the slight edge over Left & Leaving, but only because it was my first exposure to The Weakerthans. But Left & Leaving has so many incredible songs too ("This is a Fire Door, Never Leave Open," "Elegy for Elsabet," the title track, etc.)

This is the same trajectory I had with the film. It can't be overstated how terrible the hacking stuff was in the beginning. I kept thinking "oh boy, I hate this movie…" during the first 10-20 minutes. But then it started to find its rhythm and reminded me of what I like about the Bourne series.

I couldn't make out whether her actual performance was any good because I was too distracted by her dreadful American accent.

It's a shame this sounds like such a mess. Jodie Comer was fantastic in My Mad Fat Diary.

This is how I feel about the Paranormal Activity films. I liked the first three installments quite a bit but it seems to inspire that same sort of vitriol that The Blair Witch Project got.

If we're counting 6b as a separate season, then The Sopranos by a mile. I like 6a more than most people, so even as a whole I'd probably put season 6 up there pretty high on the list of best final seasons.

Degrassi. I stopped watching it around season 12, but I recently got back into it after some critics mentioned that the new Netflix exclusive season was actually pretty good. After that I went back and watched the seasons I missed. I don't even know if it's a guilty pleasure anymore, I genuinely kind of love this

Heroes, for sure.

I'm a "Warm Blood" guy myself, but you really can't go wrong with any song on that album.

I thought I was watching The Sopranos with the amount of "Poor you"-ing going on in this episode.

I haven't laughed as hard at any CBB moment since iBrain. That's how hilarious The Apple Song was.

Ah, you beat me to Nicole Holofcener. I think Please Give and Enough Said are two of the best films of the decade.

Oh, thanks for the heads up! I watched the first episode a while ago and really enjoyed it, but then I couldn't find any of the other episodes. I need more of Charlotte Ritchie being awful/delightful now that Fresh Meat is over.

Yeah, that sounds about right (I'd also add "Paraphrased," which totally rips)

It's a real bummer to hear about the music licensing issues, but I'm still happy this show is finally (legally) available stateside, because it's a real gem. Rae and Chloe's relationship is one of the richest and most rewarding female friendships I've ever seen.

I got a hint of that in the scene between them in this episode, that he was "working" her in some way. It felt like a blend of real and fake connection in that perfectly Americans way.

I'm weirdly loving every scene with Philip and Sandra this season. On a show full of great performances, Susan Misner tends to get forgotten, but she's terrific.

Haven't seen the finale yet — didn't even know episode 6 was the finale because for some reason I thought there were going to be 8 episodes — but you really nailed what made the show so great. Even though the characters are technically horrible people, it's one of my favorite hangout shows ever.

I think he just loves writing about action movies. When his old column ended he tweeted something like "somebody else please pay me to write about action films"

I'm excited for all the Breihan-isms to pop up. Which will be the first film to get the coveted "Respect motherfucking craft when you see it"? Or a simple "I've seen the film"?
