Gee, I’d love to go to the theater to see some of these films, but the grim, unwanted Idiocracy sequel we’re all trapped in prevents me from doing that with an easy mind. Thanks, morons! May you get eaten by Jaws.

He wouldn’t have been my preferred candidate either, and it’s pretty dumb to go from running a presidential campaign to subbing for a chat show host, but this article seems really unnecessarily spiteful and vitriolic. The guy’s mayor of a small city who leans centrist instead of socialist, not a death camp commandant,

Holy God, I am finally done with the AV Club.

Your opinion on whether he was the right or wrong choice is up to you.

Joe Biden is running on the most progressive platform of any Democratic nominee in history. That’s a fact. You can say he’s not progressive enough (and I’d agree that he’s not), but to say he’s anything other than a Democrat is nonsense.

Any single one of the serious candidates for the democratic nomination other than Bloomberg would have been the most liberal president this country has ever had - yes, even Biden.”

I don’t really like his policies, if there are even any (and I don’t disagree with the Shadow Republican label), but I respect his immense talent and definitely see a future for him. Despite being the youngest on stage (except when Tulsi was there), he blew me away as he increasingly schooled almost every politician

I suspect Randall isn’t fond of Mayor Pete.

It’s getting really fucking old seeing anyone who isn’t Bernie Sanders or AOC being called “shadow Republicans” or anything similar. I think Buttigieg is a classic craven politician - he plays “the game” and kisses the asses that historically need kissing to make a name for yourself, but calling him anything close to

He literally made the amount of money from donors in Charleston that he did from billionaires combined. It’s a huge stretch to say they were the reason he was considered a viable candidate when he earned the hell out of that with a strong ground game.

Dude... I’m a progressive too, but the guy already LOST. You get your wish — he won’t be President... so, maybe take it a little easier?

Did Pete ignore you on Grindr or something? Jesus this was filled with unnecessary vitriol

Glad to see the commentariat here isn’t on the Irrationally Hate Pete Express. It’s so bizarre to me.

If any more bile and sarcasm drips out of this article, we’re gonna have to put down a wet floor sign.

Actually, going by the standard of the last AV Club article on Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders should heretofore be referred to as “Bernie Sanders, who is most famous for running two failed presidential campaigns.”

So literal hell.

You gotta wonder how this article might have been written if Buttigieg had endorsed Bernie Sanders instead.

They’re trying to figure out how to activate the comments without getting completely scorched earth. Should be interesting.

If Jacobin and The Root had a stupid baby, it would be this.

This article was brought to you by the campaign to elect Bernie Sanders.
