This was actually a great bonding moment with my son (he’s now 22) and me over his video game playing. He was middle school when this hit the fan and he let his guard down enough to share this with Cranky Dad. I went into Uncontrollable Guffaw mode and the rest is our history. He’s graduating college this year. Cranky

It’s time to stop being surprised that a team which paid half a billion dollars to join the league and was given the ability to raid the rosters of every team in the league after several of the best talent laden drafts in league history is good. A half a billion still buys a lot in the NHL these days.

This is what keeps all vending machine repairmen’s dreams alive.

Well, it’s about darn time that some NHL team figured out this was the best way to stop the best scorer of his generation:

Keith was every bit as bad, at least he stood up for himself. And the spawn of Lemieux has already infiltrated the league...

Eric Wynalda will make American soccer great again.

It’s called a frappe, heathen.

They have played better than expected and have a couple of good wins...but they have played the Yotes and the Nucks 3 times already. That helps. And Turk is a better coach than he gets credit for. But Oscar Dansk? Hooo boy. Correction coming soon.

Overhead as the squirrel passed by a field level hot mic:

Listen, this is nobody’s business but the Turks.

Shhhh, you get sued by Peter Thiel for saying stuff like that around here.

They poached Aaron Portzline and his trusty sidekick Tom Reed from The Dispatch here in Columbus, effectively killing what had been the best NHL coverage in a local rag. Don’t just take my read on that, because especially Porty has the full respect of everyone in hockey. In (tepid) response, The Dispatch hired two
