I have absolutely no interest in watching Mother! That said, I’m sure it’s at least competently directed.

Are we talking strictly comedy here? Because I can think of plenty of drama sequels in the past forty years that are good.

Comedy, though? Do the Toy Story movies count?

Well, from a cursory glance at www.cravetv.ca, it looks like you’ve got a lot more options than CBS All Access, at the very least.

I would never accuse Justin Trudeau of being the most competent leader in the world, but I would take a part time drama teacher in a heartbeat over a semi-literate pathological liar with a fragile ego.

Fuck Vic Fontaine.

Netflix doesn’t have Star Trek in Canada?

You Canadians are so lucky. Not only do you not have to pay for CBS All Access, but your Prime Minister isn’t a fucking toddler.

God I hope so.

That’s kind of the page I’m on. It’s a very clever, beautifully designed and thoughtfully written show. But it’s also definitely a genre show, and it’s a lot more niche than Parks and Rec or Brooklyn 99. When I said three years, that was just a guess. I imagine a four-year plan could work as well. I’m just not sure

Eh. That’s 50/50. They’ve given life to their characters, but not always in an exciting way (Mercer, Grayson) and not always in a good way, either (Malloy, LaMarr). Isaac and Bortus are both generally pretty great, but the good doctor has suffered from sometimes mediocre writing. And while I know that Alara is a fan

I actually don’t have a problem with the length of the episode because, like you said, there wasn’t any filler. They told the story they had to tell. But...that doesn’t mean we couldn’t take a little bit of time to flesh out the characters a bit. It doesn’t have to be a lot, just small beats to show us what Tilly is

I think it was at least strongly implied that Section 31 dated back to the time of Captain Archer. But I’m not sure. I didn’t watch much of Enterprise after the second season.

Exactly!

I was really hoping for a more interesting reveal than Lorca just being mirror-universe evil. That said, I’m still holding out hope that they can accomplish some interesting and heretofore-unseen twists in the coming weeks.

At least this episode did establish one thing: Ash Tyler was a real person. And he’s dead. As

What “SJW crap” are you talking about?

Yeah, I really hope Lorca doesn’t turn out to be just another generic MU villain. But I’m not going to get my hopes up too badly.

Yeah, this episode was really ridiculously short.

There weren’t any spoilers in the title. If you watched the “Next Time on Discovery” promo at the end of last week’s episode, you would know Burnham is going to meet the Emperor. It’s not Zack’s fault if you’re not paying attention.

Probably Tilly too. But yeah, it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on here. There’s still a lot of details - like the black Federation badges from the third episode - that haven’t seen any follow-through.

Well, we know from Captain Kirk’s assassination machine (I forget it’s real name) was stolen alien technology, so it’s not unreasonable that the Charon isn’t more of the same. The Terrans don’t seem o have any problem stealing other people’s technology, after all.
