Sadly, I think you’re right. It’s especially disappointing in the case of Star Trek, because these attitudes betray the very principles the show was founded upon.

Okay, gotcha. Thanks.
Actually, I did hear about this, but it was a year or more ago, and the constant nightmare of President Trump pushed it well and clear out of my mind.
My first thought was it could have been a teacher, but her comment about locking the door suggests otherwise.
I’ve never even heard of this girl. What the hell does Twitter have against her?
I admit I’m not up on all the details surrounding Hillary Clinton controversy. What’s this about Haiti?
At this point, it’s really too early to tell what the movie will look like. But if it is just another generic origin story, I will be very disappointed. Origin stories rarely rise above tedium, especially when the subject(s) are characters we’re already familiar with.
And that is how it should remain.
Where do you get this shit from? Are you trying to be clever? Because it’s not working. I’m not a fan of Franco. I think he’s a talentless, unfunny asshole, and I don’t think I’ve ever said anything nice about him, either on this website or in any other form, since he was in Spider-Man 15 years ago. I’ve not had a bad…
Literally no one here is “defending” James Franco. He’s a smug asshole with more money than talent. All we want to know is what in hell you think you have to gain by being an unconditional asshole to everyone. You’re not making the world a better place.
I think the story is more focused on how Han met Lando. If my understanding is correct, the friendship between SUolo and Chewbacca is already in place.
And you know what? If we do get some kind of fun, Ocean’s Eleven in space, that would be okay.
Frakes did a lovely interview with the folks at Rotten Tomatoes about directing this show. It’s a good read.
Yes, but Dark Ezri Dax showed up in a bad Ferengi episode, which makes the performance much harder to forgive.
I think the showrunners have hinted at Georgiou returning, actually. I think she might be the empress, but that’s honestly just a wild guess.
I hope they do find some way to fix it. I actually really liked how low-key their relationship was.
The first episode was decent. It was enough to make me want to watch more, at least.
Of course, a big part of that is because I really enjoy Hispanic comedy ensembles, and you don’t see them on TV too often.
Her political beliefs are crazy as hell. She tried to get the nomination for the Green Party in 2012, and ended up running as the presidential candidate for the Peace and Freedom Party. Those aren’t exactly conservative groups.
And yet, she supported Trump all right. Just goes to show you never can tell.
Even Ohio can get something right once in a while.
Well, the question becomes, now that we’re moving forward with new sagas, do people start referring to the classic trilogy as prequels? Because in my mind, they should be considered the classic or original trilogy. But who knows how they’ll be classified 5-10 years from now.
Hard to say. She’s only 20, so the abuse she suffered ended relatively recently. Not sure how recent it needs to be to count in a court of law.
I actually meant Rogue One as an aside, not Rebels. Haha
But, yeah, for me, prequels specifically refers to Phantom Menace through Revenge of the Sith.
