When she and Ryan Reynolds got engaged a friend of mine called them “a perfectly matched set of golden retrievers” and that is the only thing I can think of when she shows up in my feed.

She was a very shitty person to Aiden and it was definitely hard to watch at times. But I liked that about the show. All of the leads were often shitty, as most of us can be in real life. Plus it was funny.
Yeah she totally treated him like shit! First she cheats on him, then begs him to come back to her, he proposes, then she won’t set a wedding date, lets him refinish her floors and then breaks up with him.
This is amazing! Clearly wikipedia hasn’t taken it down yet.. but I caught Joe Alwyn’s bio just in time.
I have this catchy lyric that goes sort of like,
“Dad even helps me apply the Chapstick. He says the best method is to put it on his lips first and then press them to mine to transfer it. He also uses this method to make sure I have plenty of it on my nipples as well.”
This was my take too. I attempted suicide after surviving a sexual assault when I was in high school and I kind of find the whole concept of the book and show insulting.
I think a lot of this is very relevant to the typically-functioning teen, and a very good and even-handed evaluation of the way the series fails its audience.
I come from a family that is riddled with people who threaten to/succeed in killing themselves on a regular basis. I don’t have any personal experience with suicidal depression, so take this for what it’s worth, but I thought the fact that the 13 reasons were all other people and not “and finally, as #13, I have a…
My old (tiny) high school had three students attempt in two weeks. Other students are directly connecting the attempts to this show and even more were sent into tailspins as a result of watching it. Fuck this shit.
“Hannah’s story is still very much not finished”
Also not finished: the stories of the adolescents in emergency departments since this show coming out who have attempted or have planned out their suicide. Their stories aren’t finished, and then they watched this show, and they spiraled. Did they have other stuff going…
I shattered my ankle on one in jr high— I didn’t fall off, I wasn’t doing anything risky, I just landed a little odd on my foot and *pop*. The docs at the ER said they saw three kids a week with trampoline injuries.
I imagine the developers were hoping to keep grown-ass adults that were drunk and woozy safe from falling off as opposed to thinking about protecting young children next to deep bodies of water.
I was trying to work up a Dada art joke, but this is better.
“He said Dada today, three times!”
