#22 steal content from reddit so that you don’t even have to ask your site’s commenters to do the work.
More to the point, Disney making a settlement is essentially admitting that they screwed up, and they have a long history of not paying people who should be paid for their work. Scarlett just happened to be the first one who could actually afford the suit.
Not sure I’m feeling the Scarlett snark. I know the website is only *supposedly* feminist but why the fuck are you undermining a woman standing up for allegedly getting screwed after signing a contract that said something else was going to happen?
Hope Wayne Brady or someone is ready to step in on Masked Singer.
Thank GOD that Scarlett got her justice. Could hardly sleep over this, personally.
Why the derisive comments on Scarlett? She took on a huge corporation who slighted her from the money she was owed. Why aren’t we celebrating this instead of making snide comments?
Being Grimes is exhausting. I know. I was exactly like that when I was 16. She lasted a lot longer than I did! I got tired of trying to force words like "conformity" and "paradigm" into everyday conversation.
I’d rather Charlotte get lotsa money than Disney.
The museum should feel fucking ripped off: Haaning just took the money and just sat there on his ass. No running.
I occasionally think of this Bronson Pinchot (Balkie Perfect Stranger) interview, which is very entertaining and candid in general (love his comments on Tom Cruise):
it feels very silly that this “article” mentioned none of this and just ended with a snarky “well I doubt it’s worth that much lol but go off”
I think he's one of those trainers that tells you not to let your dog sleep in your bed, so that's when I know the whole trainer has to go in the trash. I sleep with a dog behind my legs and a cat on my pillow like God intended.
It can also reflect the plaintiff exhausting other avenues for compensation, the fact that the plaintiff was a minor at the time, and the fact that the plaintiff’s mother was employed by the defendant and thus may have feared retaliation. Four years is not that long, really, and people can wait even longer.
Re: The delay in filing - Having had injuries that seemed like they would be not a huge thing at the time and that ended up affecting me for the rest of my life, this makes sense to me. Often times the full, long term impact of an injury doesn’t become apparent until months or even years later.
$850,000 seems like a slightly alleged high price point for a dog attack that occurred four years ago and yet wasn’t important enough to file a lawsuit over until now
Because she is aspiring to something bigger and better so she can affect more change and growth. Great, right?
That’s the weird thing, we all know why. She thinks she had a chance to unseat Schumer next year.
She already did:
I personally don’t care why she cried. I dont need an explanation for human emotion.
