I really like the thematic idea of this ending, that Rebecca is finally, wholeheartedly willing to take responsibility, to recognize her mental illness yet not use it as an excuse.

Yep, I wonder how much of the Nathaniel arc would have been a Greg arc if Santino had stayed. This show messes with expectations, and so maybe Greg would never have been end game specifically because that’s the expected thing, but I could imagine Rebecca working through her stuff, and Greg getting a handle on his…
I’m confident they burned through Greg’s story arc BECAUSE Santino Fontana didn’t stay. They knew he was leaving so they gave him resolution. Had he stayed, things would have happened in a different way.
It’s not even as funny written down as it was in the show; the fact that she delivered that line through tears just sold it.
I do hope they give Vinnie more to do soon, but I have to say I like Josh more now than I did as the romantic lead.
I’d correct you, but I honestly don’t remember the dog’s real name. Dog Josh is sticking, sorry WhiJo.
I’ve always loved the show’s willingness to keep its cast’s special talents under wraps, saving them for when they can really pay off.
I shouldn’t be surprised anymore by the vocal talents stockpiled by this show, but holy hell I had no idea how well Michael Hyatt could bring it! Makes me think of Brianna Barksdale in a whole new light...
If the Emmys could stop nominating the same people/shows, Rachel Bloom would be a lock.
“I’ve never cried before, even as a baby! My parents took me to the doctor. They thought I was broken, but I was just a super chill baby!”
I am 52, and have battled being a cutter since about age 10. Around age 30, was “labeled” with Borderline Personality Disorder. Rachel Bloom is bringing me to tears this season, in a good way. THANK YOU for shining a light on this label and all that lies in its web.
I was reminded of episode 102, Valencia saying she had no women friends while cuddling on the couch with Rebecca, toes-under-the-warm-butt. If Rebecca hadn’t jumped the gun that episode that relationship might’ve eventually gone somewhere. V has a strong need for female peer validation. The more she got into her ‘girl…
I agree that this was a great episode, but one thing bugged me and will probably keep bugging me - Valencia OUT OF NOWHERE having a girlfriend is so, so weird. I’ve always thought she was a poorly written character, but this is just beyond.
Rebecca admitting all the stuff she was afraid she’d get hung up on was just devastating. Rachel Bloom is so damn good.
It does my perverse little heart good to know that its been eight months and Darryl & White Josh did not get back together.
Couldn't disagree more, and that's probably because I couldn't see any discernible "empowering message" at all, most likely because none exists. Realizing that the damage you're causing to yourself also damages everyone you come into contact with isn't "empowering", it's *sobering.* (Literally, too, here.) It is,…
And I'd take a indie drama/comedy that strongly executes a smart, creative, and unusual magical realism premise to explore human relationships over a Mothra film, even one from a renowned cult director like Tsukamoto.
Can we, uh, not be gross? For once?
Yeah, but the movie we end up with is ultimately far more interesting than a kaiju film.
If only the critic had mentioned something about -
