I'm pretty sure the movie will be a lot like this……youtube.com/watch?v=iHbndkcLM6A

I'm good friends with the guy who did the effects. Who wants to touch me!?

I was expecting to hate this list, but it's pretty spot on. I'd only make two changes: I'm a bit surprised they didn't include any educational-ish songs (Ensor, Polk, Sun, Mesopotamians etc) since that is definitely a running theme in their career. …And maybe No Answer to illustrate the DAS-only end of the spectrum.

Join Us was willfully alienating (with one or two exceptions). A lot of the songs were hindered by the forced sparseness of the arrangements. Cannojoharie could have been a real rocker, and Celebration would have worked better with a synth/club treatment. Three Might Be Duende needed to build from sparse to

Needs more Linnell. He's had like two songs that aren't covers or co-written duets.

Or maybe Atom & His Package could come out of retirement.

WAS a lot quieter. I heard it just got a write up on AV Club.

I had an existential crisis listening to 2082, which led to a panic attack which lead to six months of therapy. True story. I still love that song though.

As time goes by, it's seeming like TMBG will actually be more remembered than REM. Does anyone really think about REM anymore? Just me?

Linnell is a very skinny looking last name where Flansburgh appears a bit beefier.

It's sad that I never realized that this feeds into the "Someday mother will die and I'll get the money" lyric. The melody was so strong, I assumed the words were meaningless.

Great! Now get Darin Morgan to write two of those episodes.
