And yet another FFXV article. Dude. There are other J-RPG worth mentionning. Sen no Kiseki 3 didn’t have a single article. It’s like the game doesn’t exist at all, while FFXV gets 10 (useless) articles per month. Seriously, WTF.

Already bought them twice (PS3 + PS Vita) but will buy a third time on PC to support Falcom and Xseed. I hope this will lead to a translation of Ao & Zero someday. The first Cold Steel was great but had pacing issues. The second is just awesome, one of the best J-RPG in the decade. Similar to Suikoden 2 in his time.

FFXV was a disappointement but there is one thing Square-Enix does well: make the game a topic of discussion. Sadly, there’s a lot of J-RPG like Dragon Quest XI, Ys VIII or Sen no Kiseki 3 that deserve more coverage.

Speaking of J-RPG, did you know that Sen no Kiseki 3 is going to be release soon in Japan (28 sept. 2017)?. I don’t remember Kotaku ever mentionned its existence. I can’t wait since Trails of Cold Steel 2 was awesome, unfortunately western release of Cold Steel 3 is not even announced.

Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2 on PC is an excellent new. even if I would have prefer Ao/Zero translated. Cold Steel 2 was simply the best RPG of 2016. BTW, it was never reviewed on Kotaku and there was no news about the annoucement of Sen no Kiseki 3 on PS4 (which looks great). I look forward to more Kiseki love on…

By the way, the hottest players right now are Xian and Fuudo. They seemed to play SFV at a whole different level. Xian’s Ibuki was just insane and Fuudo’s Mika was awesome. Both outplayed NuckleDu at Final Round 2017.

Where the f*** are Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2 ? Not reviewing Cold Steel 2 wasn’t a shame enough... You also skipped the awesome soundtrack from Sound Team JDK. You are hereby banished from Potos Village. Like forever.

Crappy game is crappy. Great article though, I felt exactly the same way but I am far less indulgent with this game #JeSuisNoctis (please tell Jason to play Trails of Cold Steel 2, it’s time to honor the true best jrpg of 2016).

A great year for jrpg indeed, and 2017 should be even better with Dragon Quest XI (and VIII on 3DS), Ni No Kuni 2, Persona 5 (US release), Final Fantasy XII Remaster, Nier Automata and of course, Sen no Kiseki 3 (revealed last week).

Seriously, you should have played Trails of Cold Steel 2 instead of losing time on FFXV. Cold Steel 2 has everything a jrpg fan could ever want. Great characters, great story, solid pacing, tons of lore, awesome battle system, excellent antagonists (McBurn, yeah) and epic battle themes. It’s so far better than FFXV.…
