One does tend to spill a lot of food when eating with a gun pointed at your head.

Yeah, I’m not going create a moral hierarchy of innocent child murderers.
Didn’t Del Toro’s character straight-up revenge murder children at the climax of the first movie? Kinda makes it extra absurd to place him as the protagonist in the follow-up.
The timeline fuckery of the first season was an okay enough wrinkle to the show, but really pushing into it as a feature of the second season immediately drained my enthusiasm for watching. I’m a simple man, and as such, a reasonably clever, moody, and straight-forward show about theme park robots killing their…
I do like the idea that Rian Johnson monologues like a comic supervillian, though.
I’m talking about the nitwits who want to remake it.
For sure. Where does he get off having some fun at the expense of this totally legitimate, well thought-through movement?
My favorite thing about this is that it’s such meta-fanfic. Instead of writing a surrogate all the movie characters love, they’ve just jumped straight to being the heroes who saved the franchise. Talk about Mary Sues.
I barely heard a single thing about Sable. What a gorgeous looking game. Some of the backgrounds suffer from the kind of sloppiness you get when you apply a line or sketch filter to pre-existing assets as opposed to building assets in that style from the ground up, but I don’t want my compulsive need to quibble…
Just from a spectacle -if not teamwork- standpoint, her splitting the bike in two, then using her stretch ability to build up tension for making giant leaps was amazing.
Well said. I think my favorite scene in Last Jedi was when Luke explained the Force to Rey. It was beautiful, eloquent, and simple.
Even though I kept up with his storyline in the cartoon, I still find it jarring. Yes, as you say, the superfluous lightsaber twirl was especially egregious, but I think in a larger sense I’m a bit stodgy about the movies and other media intersecting. Which isn’t really a viable opinion any longer, given how many more…
I remember when I first heard rumors of midichlorians being introduced in Phantom Menace and I didn’t believe it. I just couldn’t imagine an attempt to Star Trek-ify a simple universal concept like the Force by grinding away the imagination with a flaccid quasi-scientific explanation. Throw it on the pile of things I…
I enjoyed Solo, but lord that whole cameo was some seriously misguided nonsense.
Hahaha! Okay, Kojima. Go ahead and sign me up for your unplayable Lynchian/Cronenbergian/Jodorowsky bullshit.
Yeah, I try not to be needlessly nit-picky either, but while there’s at least a bit of hilarity to the kids getting all Lord of the Flies savage on Pennywise with iron rods, it was a very literal climax with absolutely nothing reinforcing it. Most of the stuff, like Mike listening to his father talk about the…
Good gravy, the imagery in this trailer is top notch. As much as I love the usual rain-swept twilight of techno-dystopias, the SoCal daytime aesthetic is a lovely variation. I’m greatly looking forward to this.
This all checks out.
The main Jedi in the prequels had bland robes. Just a little cleaner with a shorter tunic to acccomodate battle. But some of the background Jedi had great costumes.
