I would say that would be true if Facebook was still a private company. But if oculus fails, stock holders and analysts will freak out and that will be a tough snowball to stop.

My guess? Facebook realizes that their longterm outlook is not great- teenagers today does not use Facebook and that is scaring the crap out of them. By having something that's awesome and up and coming, that helps with longterm financial goals, and if Oculus has deep connection with Facebook (being able to connect

I feel like this is why the comparisons between Netflix and HBO GO are overrated. Netflix is great to watch a lot of tv shows and some old movies for pretty cheap whenever you want. HBO GO exists to be able to watch first run movies whenever I want.

The third k is not always backwards. Backwards K means strike out looking. Forwards K means strike out swinging.

All I can think of is that subway scene in Die Hard 3...

What about water damage? I know if my kitchen got flooded, my cabinets would be destroyed because they are wood... But at least the structure supporting the house would be okay. If the fire sprinklers went off or something flooded in a wooden skyscraper, then what?

Man, I totally see myself in these penguins... do a completely awkward faceplant, get up, walk away all cool pretending that nothing happened and that no one saw it...

What I want to know is how can this be used for human benefit? Will we be able to somehow use these waves to travel to other stars one day? Or is this a discovery that is cool to know how the universe began, but that is about it?

Honestly, I'm not surprised- just because we can't fathom the size, doesn't mean other universes don't exist. I mean, just a few hundred years ago, the earth was the center of the universe and was flat. Why? We didn't know otherwise. Us thinking there is only one universe is the same thing... who knows what is

What day was the storm? My wedding was July 14, 2012... a massive blackout would of sucked

Yeah I will be the buzzkill here and say it is financial... Creating characters in cgi is not easy (I would assume?) and if they can reuse characters created for previous films as "extras", that saves money in the budget and saves the graphic artists to work on more important parts of the film. I honestly doubt if it

It is up to you to decide whether this is "kosher" or not, but a lot of larger colleges have an alumni foundation that xl includes a free email account.

Well to be fair, I don't think someone spending $6,000 a month on an apartment would be using Craigslist. A lot of times they use a real estate agent. there used to be a show on hgtv, Selling New York- 2 bedroom apartments going for $50,000 a month. It's kind of insane.

You've never rented in Manhattan... a STUDIO is like $2,500 minimum. So a 1,200 sqft apt with 2 bedrooms would probably be about $6,000 a month

Somewhat related, has anyone read Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining? How was it?

Yeah, it was... though not nearly as dramatic as the Stanley Kubrick movie. The book makes you feel almost bad for Jack and the emotions. You can't get that in a 2 hour movie. And many of the graphics talked about in the book can't really be done without cgi, which didn't exist back then... ie the movement of the

I'm pretty sure that's called a college party....

I'm well aware of the routes- I drive them a lot. Just because it isn't unheard of and is logically correct, doesn't mean it is logistical just because it is confusing to the average driver. I 87 is a long road- there can be a 287 a few hundred miles away, not 15ish so not to be confusing.

Yep, but you would think for two bypasses so close to each other, the numbering should be required to be different. Yes, they are different states (NY and NJ), but they are only about 15 miles from each other.

yeah 87 does run mostly north to south for all of NYS - The Bronx to the Canadian border... still confusing by Westchester/Rockland counties when you want to go east and the sign only says north or south.
