Switch out “florist” for “ Doctor.” This law doesn’t dictate “ florists abs bakers only.” It opens the door.

“A lot of the arguments I’m hearing of proponents of this bill harken back to the same arguments we heard back in 1964 when people were fighting for segregation in Mississippi.”
Black people were harmed by segregation, they did not live in an equal society. History has proven why the government has intervened on this issue before, and gays have a right to their freedom as much as anyone else.
“Democrats are handcuffing Missourians, preventing them from voting on protections for religious liberty in our Constitution.”
Laws against being able to refuse someone service in a public accommodation based on a protected class is over fifty years old. Take it up with Lyndon Johnson and the 88th Congress.
The use of “the will of the people” is a pretty great tactic by McConnell to make it seem like they are doing something when all he’s doing is drinking in his office and hanging up phones.
Obama hasn’t even named a nominee, so republicans haven’t not done anything yet. All they’ve done is say that they oppose the sitting president naming a nominee.
You can’t find a single comparable position the Democrats have taken, dearest.
We’re not pretending. Please do show us an example of Democrats refusing to participate in a Republican President’s SCOTUS nomination duties. Dear.
Yeah, this is all about managing expectations. McConnell et. al. are doing their best to make it seem normal that they’re not going to do their jobs, and Obama is just making it clear that the expectation is that they will. Establish the idea that the Senate is supposed to at least give the nominees a vote, and…
So you don’t follow politics, and don’t even understand the context of what he was responding to. Good job!
Glad you agree. Now if you could start rubbing a few more of your brain cells together and stop encouraging gotcha journalism, that would be pretty fantastic for the future of the country. TIA
I want a cookie, but I’m just a fat white guy who already caucused, so nobody cares to give me cookies anyway.
It was a response to people claiming that he was running an openly sexist campaign, not an unbidden brag. Nobody’s looking for cookies.
Surrounded by tons of voices, but so very alone - I feel like this describes so many of my students. They get depressed when people they don’t know or speak to in any way (IRL or online) fail to ‘like’ their Instagram images. It makes me feel terribly sad for them.
“Meat Love Supreme” was my favorite one of the Supremes.
Of all the things that make Ted Cruz punchable, his fake tough-guy act is up there for me. This weasel comes out and says, President Obama should “insult him to his face”, that he’ll debate Donald Trump “mano a mano”, that he’ll “make the sand glow”, and talking about our military like he has any clue.
“dorm part duex” is exactly what I was thinking as I was reading it. It’s a starter-starter apartment.
Right? If we are explicitly being told to vote for her because she’s a woman, I think it’s fair for someone to point out that just because she’s a woman doesn’t mean she’d be a great President.
