Careful how you answer the question, since it’ll determine whether you go through life in an OK financial situation, or always skirting bankruptcy.

The Protege5 was a good car. If you look at any car from 20 years ago, they’re all lame and slow compared to today’s cars and that’s not really a fair assessment. The Protege5 also came with a 1.8L that provided adequate performance. I had a roommate that bought a 99 Protege ES sedan with the 1.8 and a 5 speed and it

Not cold hearted at all. My thought was, “You have to be one dumb SOB to drive in a blizzard like this one if you absolutely do not have to do it.”  The only thing dumber is doing so and not being prepared for the absolute worst.

everyone lived, and the person who owns it is probably rich enough to also buy a small country. They’ll be just fine, if you ask me.”

The thing is - he ran into a moving tail rotor. It doesn’t matter why, it doesn’t matter how cautious and wary a person he was. He walked into his own demise. It’s a tragic incident and I don’t blame people for looking for...something. blame, anger, etc.

Lots of questions:

I used to be selected for jury duty every year or two and they’d bring me as far as they could without having to discount me from selection for seven years. Finally, in comments as to why I shouldn’t be selected for jury duty, I wrote that I go by my own code which may or may not coincide with the law written to

These massively oversized loads require a lot of route planning. How is coordinating with railroads not part of that checklist?

Man, I was all set for a gripe session about LA’s finest, until I watched the video that wasn’t included in this story.

This has to do with cars because...they used a Penske truck? You’re not even trying on this one.

It reads as though both kid and car seat were ejected -- the kid was pretty clearly not properly restrained.

Sorry Bradley, you got this 100% wrong. While the good ol’ USA may condone that kind of behavior in sports, I’m glad the rest of the world doesn’t. Racing is dangerous and there is absolutely no room for that kind of temper and violence. No matter how pissed off you are, you can’t throw shit at a moving race vehicle

We’re closing in on 40,000 miles and have had zero reliability issues. We have only done regular maintenance and had some parts replaced that have broken due to user error.

1. Wife scraped the passenger fender plastic cladding. I replaced it myself, but the parts took forever to come in.

2. The cruise control button

Pointless death as a result of one of the more pointless trends of my lifetime.

Yeah, great timing for him too, just in time for spring. If he can get them stable (hopefully they already have a queen in there somewhere) he might be able to get honey out of them this year.

I’m glad that they called in a beekeeper. When bees swarm like this, they’re generally incredibly docile. This sort of thing happens because their previous home became uninhabitable.  It’s unclear why they pick stopping places like this, though worker bees will act as “scouts,” and the collective decides where it

Obligatory.

Toyota is not getting the car-person memo. We don’t want a Subaru or a BMW. We want a Toyota-developed Toyota.

He would sit there, let them yank him out of a car and allow himself to be beaten to death.  Because you’re supposed to let angry mobs do whatever they want.

You can hear the narrator say “They’re hitting the cop car... They’re hitting the cop car!” So either you are wrong, or the fellow standing 5 feet away is wrong.
