Haha, this is what I was thinking too. I am set to retire in 2045 and my 401k advisor says I need about $8 million to maintain my middle class standard of living. $2 million doesn’t go as far as it used to.
$2 million isn’t even a massive net worth... it’s like lower-upper class, maybe even just upper-middle class.
My aunt’s worth about $2 million. I fully expect to have to take care of her for the final ~5-10 years of her life since the long-term care industry will bleed her dry in a decade.
