I would throw out there, Brooklyn South as a over looked David Milch show worth checking out. Several faces that later ended up on Deadwood were either part of the cast or had guest spots. It was an attempt to do NYPD Blue for street cops and for that reason avoids the H:LOTS v NYPD Blue debate.
