"…its sixth graders were apparently discussing the program’s various lurid and violent details."
The lurid and violent details (of rape and suicide!). They're evidently not having philosophical discussions about social pressures and bullying or whatever was the lead-up to the suicide in this show.

Corporate sponsorships, ads, and lots and lots of (mostly young) people with disposable income.

That's assuming they live in an area where there are options to choose from!

They were all from Canada and were models, you wouldn't know them.

Tiny Vaders chopping hands off of every Luke…
Not a lot of people cosplaying as tauntauns, or defenestration by a tiny Luke might be a concern.

Someone ought to be driving through the streets over there with a bullhorn pointing out that voter apathy is a significant part of how we got stuck with Cheeto Benito. But in French.

Whenever I'm doing stuff that doesn't require particular concentration or focus. Mindless projects at work, gaming at home, on the rare occasion that I cook anything that requires the stove-top and a pan and not just the microwave. And absolutely on long drives. I get tired really fast when I'm driving, so I turn on a

Well, I wasn't *planning* to go to the liquor store, but now I have to!

I always recommend Askamanager.org for job related stuff. She would probably say don't panic, the hiring process can take way longer than you'd think, and be very sparing on follow-ups. They have your resume, they will or they won't get back to you, but multiple emails and/or calls could just get you on the hiring

I'm pretty sure that some locations just mix their drinks differently. I can order the exact same thing at two different locations and only one of those locations manages to make me frown at my cup of steaming sugar drink every time.

That's why they have interns and why the interns need the sugar rush from this drink.

I know the stereotype of cats is that they're all aloof and cold, but the reality is that plenty of them are clingy and/or emotionally needy.

I'd guess it encourages people to buy tickets in advance (so you can guarantee you have the seat you want), which may help the theatre with forecasting on how many screens to show something.

Madison just got this relatively recently.

The major chain in my area (Marcus) just switched to it. All the fancy recliners and everything. SO NICE.

I was nervous about it exactly once - until I had a chance to be in the theatre and see where I usually like to sit and what that meant for seat locations.

Don't exercise your mojo in the office. Please.

My first thought would be a medical condition of some kind, particularly if there's enough distance between the grandparents and the caller that it would require an overnight stay or longer (which, in the case of an ill pet, would require either boarding at the vet or a really trusted petsitter, both of which are

Ehhhh. I only live a few hours from my mom, but I've had a few years in a row now where my cats have been why I can't stay overnight. One after the other, they were old and sick and on medications that nobody else was going to give them.
