Interestingly, I feel the same way about Jennifer Lopez.

Every man named Brown has to have sex with a ghost eventually. It is their destiny.

Kesha signed a horrible contract. Rita did not. Also something tells me Jay-Z saw her music flopping and was glad she wanted out.

It’s strange how easy it was for Rita to get out of her contract compared to Kesha.

5 who’s for (almost) 5 PM:

obligatory.

The Mamas & The Papas songs wouldn't have been what they were if not for her voice.

I also find it a bit rich that he only could think of men when he conceives of raw talent. It’s as if women are simply not capable of talent with machine-assisted tools or a man propping up her pop fluff.

Ha

Either she’s Becky or she wants everyone to think she is.

I mean, the most irritating thing about this story is that Roy all but confirmed it herself the night Lemonade was released. She uploaded a photo of herself and captioned it, “Good hair don’t care.”

The woman rumored to have inspired “Becky With the Good Hair” fromLemonade, Rachel Roy, reportedly “grabbed her place card” and ran the hell out of the CFDA Awards earlier this week after discovering Beyoncé Knowles was on her way in.

Okay so children in blazers are fucking ADORABLE.

Im sure you’re right.

Calling him Cassius Clay is a way of calling him a n****r without actually saying it. The people who do that know exactly what they’re doing.

Some people are referring to him as Cassius Clay in a weird hipstery attempt to act like they followed his life. Like, “I knew him before he joined the Nation Of Islam.” But they are so, so dumb.

it’s basically “they were so good we didnt even CARE that they were black!!” its so awful

Really great article, Kara. I get what they’re trying to say but to me when someone writes or says “transcended race” it just feels like they’re saying “we really liked them even though they were black” or “good thing they escaped that whole being black thing otherwise we wouldn’t have paid them any attention at all.”
