You’re correct, but it brushes up against something a lot of people imply: somewhere in there, there is a mental tradeoff (even subconsciously) that people make when dickering over high-cap mags.

A ban is meaningless. Gun manufacturers will simply fidget with some options and configurations of the weapons, rebrand them with a new set of names, possibly change euphemisms from “modern sporting rifle” to something else, and then pick up where they left off. And it doesn’t address the millions of weapons already…

Naming Bernie or Warren as her running mate by end of the week would go a long way to healing up the Dem party quickly.
