Well, two points.
Well, two points.
While I agree that those comments aren't really misandry (at worst, a little tasteless), I'm on Jezebel enough to know that some commentators definitely have a little anti-man chip on their shoulder (not that I blame them), which certainly comes out in their comments.
Nobody is incapable, or else that would absolve them of any guilt.
To be fair to James Flynn (the guy being cited in the article), he doesn't think IQ tests actually test for intelligence - "The hypothesis that best fits the results is that IQ tests do not measure intelligence but rather correlate with a weak causal link to intelligence" - note, this is not about the women vs. men IQ…
Oh man. That is badass.
I think you are giving them too much credit. They'd need to realize those feelings and needs exist before they could downrate them.
Oh, that was tongue in cheek. I should've added a wry smiley or something to confirm my sarcasm.
Well it could have, if Ninja Gaiden hadn't blown itself out of the water already.
I see your point, but I must counter:
That is plausible, but I would have to think on it more to have an opinion.
I actually completely forgot that was supposed to be shameful until you reminded me of it. I'm having a bit of a surreal moment as a result.
Every virtue ascribable to the traditional notion of manliness is now recognized as not gender-specific.
A million cries of male anguish ring out from New Jersey.
I find many of my male cohorts confused because they think there are only two modes of being: either a dickhead, or a 'nice-guy' floormat. I blame our poor educational system.
He's also a coward, which pretty much violates core fundamentals of even antiquated notions of "manliness." Therefore, people apparently think he's "manly" because he grabs butts and drinks alot. And he makes some kind of moral stand, once in a while. Tragic. (Very cool character though!)
"Do we still expect women to be weak, helpless, delicate?"
Yes, this highlighting the fact that we ought not to redefine the term, but rather, dispose of it altogether.
Ugh. Cannae was not a pincer movement; but rather, complete encirclement and annihilation, taking advantage of an enemy that deployed densely, and with deep ranks. Many things were critical, including the formation (crescent shape), the orders (wings advance and turn inwards, center retreats slowly), the timing…
"In order to get that longed-for validation men have to take on the responsibility of making it safer for women to tell us what they like about faces, our bodies, and our style."
Truth.
