@Florida_Cracker: PCLinuxOS and Mandriva are excellent choices for a beginner. Yes, KDE is probably a bit more bloated but the trade off is shiny GUI's that steer you clear of having to deal with command line in Terminal or configuring files in a text editor

@prupert: I use mine for QoS so torrents get "bulk" aka low bandwidth priority. I give my laptop the highest since I usually use it for surfing.

@Tsylord: I actually know html/css really well and could do the code just fine, but I really want something that looks sharp and I don't mind paying a designer for it. I could probably put something decent together (design-wise) but some people just have an eye for that kinda thing and I am not one of them.

I am also open to converting to Wordpress if I can be convinced it's worth it.
