These are awesome ideas. Some here have stated that they wouldn't be appreciated or that the receiver would think less of them because they're DIY, but I think the majority of receivers would fully dig these things. Sure, some are borderline useless, but still would make awesome conversation pieces at the office or at

I'm a network engineer for a cable provider and I maintain the high speed data backbone. Not much "fake" work for my team. The vast majority of what we do is necessary to keep things online and running smoothly.

@ihityouinthenose: Agreed. All of these issues have been fixed and the app has really come together nicely. I recommend you try it again now that it's 3 revisions into the beta. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. And no, I don't work for them either. :-)

Question for those that have rooted their Android phones - Can you take screenshots of your phone's home screens straight from the phone, or do you still have to do that using the SDK on your pc? When I had my iPhone, I enjoyed the ability to do that and it's always been a minor annoyance for me with my Droids.

I would like to switch to a local CU, personally, but when I think about the hassle it's going to be, I become a bit apprehensive. I don't have much savings at all and everything I pay is done via automatic draft. I would have to time everything just right and make sure everyone gets notified in time or those drafts

@Leafar: Same here. Anyone else have this problem? Or even better; a solution?

@not.a.tech.expert: I work as a "Tech Guy" for a large communications company covering the majority of the state I live in and on the side I handle IP Engineering for the Western half of said state.

@NefariousNewt: I have to agree with you. I grew up in a home where the phone went unanswered if it rang during dinner. The table is a place for courtesy and communication face to face, the phone can wait.

@steven_m_s: I have one of these. Cost me $15 tops and it's great for when I travel. It lets me watch my own movies and not have to bother with the crappy hotel-cable lineup.

@moe52: I know! Isn't it great? :)

This is a must for folks who travel a lot. My biggest problem is keeping the kids out of it! They seem to have an attraction to the "miniature" toiletries contained within the bag.

@infinitemonkeys: I have to agree here (with the water damage thing). Water won't harm the drive at all unless you attempt to use it while it's still wet. If you wash it, use some alcohol to help it dry. If it's got a case on it that you can't get off easily, let it sit for a good long time. Not convenient maybe, but

The whole wet blanket/towel thing seems messy. I just don't know that I want to put wet stuff on my bed.

I jailbreak because I'm outside of ATT's network. I don't know that I necessarily would if I used ATT. However, I might. I know that I pay a heck of a lot less for my plan than I would on an ATT plan. My total bill after taxes is $66. And what's with the stories I hear about expensive text messaging with them? Most

Probably a stupid question, but what is the "RTM"? Since I've been running the Beta and currently use the Release Candidate, is this something that I should be able to use or is it generally available? I'm not sure so I figured I'd ask all the good people of LH.

My family uses [cozi.com] for our lists. It allows us to create whatever lists we need and we can all add to them or remove things from them as the situation warrants. It also has a cool calendar function that works for everyone as well. I like the way it sends text messages to the appropriate family members for each

I live about 6 blocks from work but I still "telecommute" sometimes. It's nice to be able to work at home sometimes. Definitely a perk...
