You should have just shown them the Japanese trailer released last year.

Probably, because I heard that there will be two storylines you chose from at the beginning. One focused on the P3 characters and the other focused on the P4 characters.

Japanese high school life simulator mixed with a turn taking RPG (e.g. Pokemon).

They ditched the engine used for Catherine to make a new one from the ground up. I suspect they wanted to make it the best possible, so they chose to go all in on one console and PS3 was the best option.
