Probably, because I heard that there will be two storylines you chose from at the beginning. One focused on the P3 characters and the other focused on the P4 characters.

They ditched the engine used for Catherine to make a new one from the ground up. I suspect they wanted to make it the best possible, so they chose to go all in on one console and PS3 was the best option.

It is a long visual novel basically, so prepare yourself with lots of reading! The story is a exact sequel to P4 and it seems like a necessity for any P4/P3 fan.
