and they’re doing it after launching a payload to low earth orbit. It’s foolish to think that simply launching a rocket 60 miles up and then landing it is the same as what SpaceX is trying to do.

This is factually inaccurate. SpaceX has made controlled vertical landings many times. They are attemtping to do so now on a floating barge. That is a much more complex problem
