Here is where I stand.

I call mine the garbage can but seriously that’s something those Minimalist guys did, having a ‘packing party.’ One of them packed all their stuff in boxes and in a span of maybe 3 months just slowly pull out stuff he needed. He pretty much left maybe 85% of his stuff in the box untouched.

If you have decent interest rate, you’d be better off pre-paying it rather than consolidating. Assuming you have the cash. A lot of student loans have very attractive rates right of the box.

Got it done. I get paid once a month so it was tough but the little chunks made it seem more reasonable. I got paid last week for the month of Jan. and lumped the last few installments. Still working on the inverse 52 week challenge ( 52.o0 high to low end of year 1). I will probably weekly dumping more into that…

My wife and I are lucky to be in a very fortunate situation, however, we sucked at saving more than just having our safety net. This kicked my into gear to start saving money every week. We are starting at, and I believe we can sustain, about $900/month. Woo! I’m excited for February.

THAT percentage is somewhere closer to 50-55%. I’m taking a Dave Ramsey class right now and we JUST learned about this.

Also at some schools, you’re required to buy a meal plan if you’re using on-campus housing, regardless if you cook your own food or not. Many of these plans are outrageously priced too.

Is it? I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a truck driver do that in NJ!
