I’m going to introduce a couple of somebodies to “Withnail & I” a week from Monday, as a result of all of us having seen Richard E Grant as Classic Loki, and I’m super-excited.

Oooooh, that’s right, they rode in a helicopter. It’s been an awfully long time since I read The Defenders.
That’s ALLIGATOR Loki - you want to get your hand bit off?
I’m still holding out for her not being a Loki at all, but being the Enchantress. I was reeeeeally hoping they’d go that route in the season finale. Or some route that didn’t involve a new character, and Loki and Sylvie sitting and listening while said new character did an exposition dump.
Lumberingly playful and a bit “INSAAAAAANE!!!!”, I’d say.
Completely agree. There were several brief quotes from other well-known scores, especially electronic type scores. I could ALMOST place them a couple of times, but not quite. Knowing that she wrote the score without seeing any footage, and only reading the script, I wonder how that contributed to it. I can definitely…
Man, he freaking BLESSED them with song, because he was BLESSED to be there. I guarantee you he has the skills to have been able to not have heard his name being yelled. She totally did the right thing; it was meant to be.
THANK GOD! I was watching it thinking it was one of the worst things I’d ever seen, all twitchy and sudden mood changes and yelling and whispering and chuckling and whatever bullshit bad actors do externally when they’re playing a character who’s supposed to be insane, or who’s underwritten, or whatever. Like he had…
Seeing someone’s naked body, being turned off by it, sleeping with them anyway,
Aaaaah, “WithLoki and I”. Yes, perfect. “Old Loki”, and “Old Man Loki” (really???), just weren’t working for me at all.
So so so so so good. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it, and it’s not been far from my mind for a few decades. “Don’t ever forget us, son.”
JAWS! It’s not unusual for it to be shown in theatres on the 4th, and it’s so much fun in a theatre. Several years ago I got a group of friends to go with me who’d never seen it. Ugh, to people who think of the movie JAWS as “Jaws movies”, as in “I’ve never seen a Jaws movie”. There’s only one JAWS!
“Oooooooooow. Oooooooooooow”
Valmont of course was of course completely overshadowed by Dangerous Liaisons. I was aware of it, but figured it was probably completely unnecessary and superfluous. It’s not, though, at all. S&E were right, the interpretations and performances were so different - the two films really complement one another. Annette…
I agree, it is interesting to compare. Capote vs Infamous? Dangerous Liaisons vs Valmont? pop immediately to mind, and there’s a third that won’t quite come to me. I don’t really have a particular opinion on Capote vs Infamous, I don’t remember them that well, but remember I enjoyed them both. And Dangerous Liaisons…
I haven’t kept up with this show but I’m itching to see this.
I hope he at least arranged that half of his Daily Planet salary be sent to her.
Die, or become PUBLIC PROPERTY!!!
She’s why I saw it! Nope. Irredeemable.
Maybe they can make up for it by restoring the bit about the wicked stepmother being invited to the wedding, where she’s forced to dance herself to death in red-hot iron shoes.
