That cackle! I’m surprised there hasn’t been more discussion of that cackle vis-a-vis speculation to the possibility that she’s really another witch herself (Agatha Harkness).

I really, really, really enjoyed Monica’s blue eye shadow and outsized strutting around in episode 3. I wonder what her thoughts are on playing that particular character.

I don’t think it is hurting your appreciation of the show. I watched a LOT of The Dick Van Dyke Show, and a LOT of Bewitched, and I appreciated the homages/references very much, but honestly they don’t really go much beyond the cosmetic/superficial. The story being told within them is very much its own thing. I’m

Finally watched last night - and managed to resist reading this article and comments until after! Maturity, I guess haha.

I thought the same thing, “Halloween episode? Roseanne!”. That was fun.

My prediction: Justin Long wins an Oscar in 15 years.

Not in actual Siam/Thailand.

God, I hated him saying that over and over in the show/movie. It’s like he’s a parrot, just repeating something that’s caught his ear. Or a child - really, all the “Siamese” are presented as basically children, which just really griped me when I saw it a few years ago.

I saw the 1956 film in a theatre a few years ago - bleagh, totally a fantasy of civilized white lady bringing salvation to a backwards people. No wonder it’s banned in Thailand. I really love the score though - really really love it. The cast album of the 1996 revival is probably the best way to experience the show.

Miss Ross grabbed that mic from Mary’s hand! And that was the beginning of the end of success for Miss Ross. It was edited for broadcast, but the damage was done. Then came “Dreamgirl”, with all its attendant “Diana Ross did what??” stories - hoo boy. And they never stopped coming after that.

Man oh man oh man...the Supremes were a major obsession with me for about 5 years, starting with the publication of “Dreamgirl: My Life As A Supreme”. I was completely unaware of the Supremes before that, believe it or not, even though I was born in 1966. We didn’t have tv in our household until 1976, and music was

I like Xanadu, but I wouldn’t call it a bona-fide success. Not like Grease - there’s a lot to love, though.

It?

About (gulp) twenty years ago, a friend and I were talking about The Avengers, and I was telling him that I was never really into them when I had been reading comics (which was roughly 1976-1980), but I did really like the Scarlet Witch. So he proceeded to tell me all that House of M storyline, and the “No mutants”

And so it comes full circle. That’s bad.

Martha, will you show her where we keep the, uh, euphemism?

I believe Wanda will end up bringing the X-Men in.

And don’t we hear in voiceover “We have a breach” or “There’s a breach” or something, just before the knock on the door? I’d forgotten about that, thanks.

If you look back, she’s basically from the island of Lesbos—someplace where they had the female Olympics, where they would just wear teddies and do shot put.

It just all seemed like, what the fuck is going on? Like, EVERYTHING was, I don’t know, cursed or something.
