“Do you want to see a long arm, Otis? You wanna see a LONG? ARM???”

I hear you, but you know it's their candidate, technically; I mean, the party's candidate for office. The party leadership may have had an outsized role in the decision, but not an illegitimately outsized role. The candidate represents the party.
I’ve seen it, though I don’t remember how long ago. It was a loooong time ago, in the early 1970s I’m thinking. Probably on its last US theatrical release? Honestly, I barely remember it, though we also had a record of the songs and story which I remember better. Some of the songs were fun.

Such a shame how cavalierly that film was cut after initial release, and how cavalierly most of the cut footage was simply disposed of and disavowed by the studio - though bits and pieces of it were kept, here and there, by various parties.
Even if you don’t make it “public”, I’ve always assumed it becomes the property of the social media company, though I’ve never read the agreements or privacy policies or anything. I think of social media posts as being published material. Anyway, once you put it in writing, whatever it is, it’s your responsibility.
Some people just see a pretty blonde woman and nothing more. I’ve seen that kind of response, or non-response, to her performances more than once, and it’s mystified me. At the time of Batman Returns, I was raving about her in these roles, and what a surprise she was and my boyfriend, who was generally pretty…
Holy shoot, this reminds me how much I loved this movie and why. It made me a huge fan of both Michelle Pfeiffer and Glenn Close - before it, I thought they were just fine, but as far as I was concerned after this they ruled the period in movies.
Oops, I...already did. Honestly, articles like this make me think about things I don't need to think about. He's fine!
Attab- uh, I agree with you.
These kind of jokes have been utterly ruined by the literal, documented reality of these people, and their insistence on reminding the rest of us that those old-timey villains were simply avatars for real-life swindlers and crooks. The latter-day versions are exactly the same and, like those costumed cretins of crime…
Exactly - who can say? “Fantastic!” “Terrible!” Who can even agree what those words mean anymore! Literally.
I’ve just been cutting onions. I was making a lasagne...for one.
I did not really know what to expect of this movie.
Those F&C spoofs never stopped getting better, either - the earlier ones of things like “Gone With The Wind” and “Thelma and Louise” were enjoyable silliness, with them mostly just riffing, in and out of character, but “Mamma Mia - It’s A Nonsense” and “LOTR” were highly complex (not to mention highly budgeted), and…
“Mildred’s Fatburger’s”, and Rebecky putting on a second pair of glasses to look at Maxim were for sure hilarious to kid me.
The thing about that is Jeopardy wasn’t on the air any longer when he parodied it. It was revived after that song.
Here’s the thing - I KNOW there was something which fits the bill here, which I first encountered not knowing it was a parody. I know, know, know there was - but it’s dancing just outside the grasp of my old brain’s recall.
I just reread this, and I’m thinking that you must think that “dancing with the constellations and the sun could pay her homage” is some kind of snark that I made up. I mean, it does sound over-the-top, doesn’t it - and you could easily read it in some sort of “Dr-Smith-from-Lost-In-Space” voice. So, I respect your…
