I’ll go down for the Owen Bradley-produced, Brenda Lee-sung “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree” anytime; with Grady Martin’s guitar providing rockabilly accents, it’s 1958 Nashville pop perfection.

There are a lot of things in ST:TMP that I really like - specifically, a lot of ideas that I liked, and science fiction in general and Star Trek in particular had always been, at their best, idea-based. Unfortunately, ideas don’t necessarily translate into an interesting movie, and the pace was the killer with this…
Also...uh...”squirtloaf”?
Yes.
I mean, I looked it up once, but didn’t memorize it. I mean, it was in September of 1976, ok? But I don’t know what date. 23?
Completely. Completely. Compleeetely. Burned out.
I know the exact date we got our first TV, because that was the night that Laverne Defazio learned how to drive.
Wow, that’s a good one. I can’t think of any after the 1950s.
I felt the same way while watching it - about 2/3 through I was like “OK, now what exactly is the takeaway here?” Though I did come away with a much better understanding of what actually happened, which seemed ultimately to be the point.
77% on a school exam would be a good, solid “C”. That’s literally the very definition of “average” (which is a synonym for “mediocre”).
He thought (this is not a joke or exaggeration) that the reason that previous POTUS’s got shit on was because they weren’t clever enough or manly enough to have exercised their option to not be shit on.
So sad but, literally, yes.
I really really like the Weezer cover, and I was always “meh” about the original. The original came out when I was in high school and like a lot of top forty from the time that meant I heard it a lot, but never had a real opinion about it one way or the other. But the cover, I don’t know why, really really makes me…
That’s what looks wrongest about the trailers for this: Emily Blunt’s constant smile. In many shots/stills, her grin - GRIN - is ear-to-ear. Here’s a tip, if you ever see Mary Poppins grin...well, it’s been nice knowin’ ya. She was God's nanny, you know, and the sun bows to her in reverence.
My wife's and my? I think that's it!
I once thought I cleverly made up the title “Batman Again”, and was obscurely flattered when I heard someone on the TV say it.
...isn’t a fan of the message in the video he created and is exhibiting so he can record himself reacting to it?
I think “I’m scared of something I don’t understand” is a fair description of this reaction - it’s not usually made so openly, in those words, and I respect that.
Your eyes were still open at that point? Sucker...not mine. Even behind my open hands which were pressed over them, my eyes said “Oh, nope” and actually turned around completely, so they were facing the front part of my brain.
