how is the performance though?

@tech10171968: yeah...to repeat what's been said: you're flat out wrong here. It sounds like the XML filters don't have anything to do with the opening/saving of the 2007 xml-based Office document formats anyway. Oh well — wait for Microsoft's work around in the next week or two, or just start using Office 2010

@jonny6pak: I'm in healthcare (sort of informatics as well). I hear ya ...this patent sounded horribly broad (as most have lately).

...and they already said they have a "fix" for this. This really isn't that big of a deal. Yes, they lost — but in the grand scheme of things not many people even use the custom XML filters anyway.

Google Wave? Seriously people?

Which "neat" tools are you talking about for Windows?

vote: email

Keep in mind this will likely take 1 (or more) of your limited IMAP connections in Gmail. If you use other apps or services that poll Gmail you may hit the limit pretty easily. I think the max connections is 10 right now.

hmm...I wonder what the unlocked price will be? I wonder if they can figure out a way to get it down around $200-300.

any chance of updating this to work on Chrome?

I kind of assumed people knew about reducing the glass border...I've been doing that since Vista because it wasted so much space.

been waiting for this...this is actually one of things I needed to make the switch from Firefox to Chrome.

It's not that accurate. I've been testing it since this morning, and it's definitely struggling. Pretty cool start though, especially for a free app.

wow...ridiculously overpriced. I see this company going under in 6 months tops. What a joke.

@Tvhargon: still a frightening reason on any level.

@MyDarkPassenger: you might be able to pick up one of those flying pigs too right about then. I wouldn't hold my breathe over a Verizon iPhone — a T-Mobile iPhone would be far more likely next.

@Tvhargon: whoa... um what? That's easily the worst reason I've heard of switching to a mac.

HTML5 is incredibly promising, but it's how many years away from even being a finalized standard? 5 years? 10?

Firefox, Gmail, GOM Player, and LastPass
