I have such an opposite perspective on this, probably because I'm a cynical bastard.

I appreciate the double-speak in his statement. "I have never lied to the press about the fluidity of my sexuality" is an outstanding workaround for all those interviews in which he said he only dated women.

Y'all, let me tell you why there's not an ice dragon frozen in the wall … because that is an exact plot device that appears in another fantasy series by author Robin Hobb, who GRRM is well acquainted with and his name appears on the cover of every one of her books blurbing about how great her story is.

That's a weird complaint. Adding hooks and pop structure to a genre of music that had previously been without much form is essentially what made NIN.

Is pointing out that it's a rip-off of a Skinny Puppy song considered criticism?

My favorite part of that Livejournal post is GRRM talking about how much he loved the Amazon show "Good Girls Revolt" and how disappointed he is that it was cancelled and there won't be more of the story. He legit says, "Wish there were more of them."

I enjoyed season 1, but I cannot get through season 2. Every episode is a slog. They uprooted the entire cast from the Scottish highlands and inexplicably turned them into French aristocrats. Everything that was good about the show is gone.

A big Disney remake is quite a feather in Oliver's cap.

My favorite book I've read this year (and I'm surprised it's not on this list) is The Bear and The Nightingale. It was an outstanding little book about Russian fairy tale creatures with an early Gaiman vibe.

I quite like Hobb if only because she can actually deliver a finished series, which is starting to feel rare in fantasy lit.

Yes, Goodreads is great if you like reviews of books in animated gif form.

Same! I'd much prefer to see Hugh Jackman as a gay track coach.

Even South Korea is pissed at Netflix for canceling Sense8.

The Sisters of Mercy just announced a European tour. Does that help?

Hey, Michael Stipe has been painting!

If you haven't heard of Chuck Tingle, you should google him immediately.

Really? Have you watched the whole season? When they start interacting with another cluster, I thought it was pretty spectacular.

They are both transwomen, but Lilly Wachowski actually wasn't involved in season 2. She stepped away and had talked about returning for season 3.

Season one didn't get good critical reviews, but that was widely attributed to critics only receiving the first 4 episodes.

I love Looking too. It was so introspective and realistic, and there are too few LGBT stories told like that.
