I read somewhere that the manufacturer has to configure the model to be a configuration that 70% of the buyers will actually take home. So if suddenly instead of a 65% take rate on a optional sunroof its a 75% take rate, then they have to publish the numbers for a sunroof equipped model.

Mustang is a bit stupid on the size to interior, but a good part of that is the side impact requirements. Also styling requirements. Also practicality requirements. Look at the Camaro for what you get if you build a “mustang” to be as small outside to the inside. You get tiny windows. You get a trunk thats both tiny

I hate this myth. I’ve driven on tires old enough to vote. They were perfectly fine. Sure grip was down compared to new, but a 80's full size truck is limited by itself more than the modern tires being aged.

Nah, fully warm at idle my GT350 had even less than that. High rpm it was still pushing what would be high numbers for normal engines. I assume the Z06 is no different because high rpm is high rpm. 

I doubt this very much. Making it quieter is fairly easy. The cost to do so however is I’m sure not worth it. So its a $$$ not a regulation thats killing it. 

yes, sometimes they guess wrong. However it helps them guess better next year because they assume people who really need it get it every year. So they can assume residual protection from the previous years shot. Thats less to cover in the wide array of potential variants.

aren’t most of his cars really nice body kits based on existing platforms? Whole different level of engineering between the two and I honestly think no one smart would start from 0 unless they are going to be making hundreds of multi-million dollar cars... 

Let me introduce you to the states where pickup ownership and drive-through liquor stores are more common than cars and walk in only liquor stores. 

and a F-150 XLT will have more luxury stuff than the SVT lightning for that $60K. Likely faster and handle better too.

Do not bet on the 2nd frame being worth anything. Its old, was stored outside for a good part of its life, and not that complete.
