Why should the taxpayer fund it when its not an essential government service and we have $1 Trillion deficits?

Not everything on PBS is worth funding.
If people want to get their tax money back (fat chance anyway), they could stop subsidizing big oil and corporate agriculture. That is where the beef is. PBS is peanuts by comparison.
They receive a small percantage of gov’t funding and the vast majority from elsewhere. They may be educational but it looks like they didn’t teach you to do research.
PBS receives approximately 12% of its funding from the federal government.
So, you mean, immoral greedy fucks that just watch the PBS broadcasting without donating to it...? Oh, you are considering everyone else’s tax dollars as your donation... Got it.
I’m not entirely clear why there’s a need for government funded television anymore. What makes any of their programming different than what any other station can provide? There’s no reason those shows can’t be on other channels and vice-versa. In fact, some are.
Netflix makes some great shows without taking my tax money to do it.
Lets look at some PBS content to discover why some non-immoral non-greedy fucks want to defund federal spending on PBS:
It absolutely should be defunded. While they do produce some quality programming, they are far from the only ones. Why spend taxpayer dollars on this when there is so much quality programming out there? What’s the point?
Bizzarley enough, David Koch is one of the big donors funding NOVA.
No one alive today has ever been a slave or owned a slave in America. Everyone has equal rights by law regardless of their race. Quoting history is a moot point as white people have also been slaves if you go back far enough in history. All of which is completely meaningless as there is still no justifiable reason to…
Can you imagine the uproar if a show called “Dear Black People” was created where the trailer shows a condescending view towards black people? Kinda puts the whole thing in perspective when you think about it. Not that I really care either way, just pointing out why people might find it offensive.
I don’t see how random people cancelling their Netflix subscription has any major affect on society. You know what does? Race baiting and getting people to fight among themselves based on superficial issues when we should be working towards uniting human beings for the betterment of society. If you really think this…
Nice to find a fellow adult here on this site. An unfortunate rarity.
Man, the author of this article is doing nothing but further racial tensions by slinging mud and massively generalizing an entire group of people.
The author doesn’t seem interested in telling the full story of this phone or giving it a fair shake. I base this conclusion on his use of negative language even when writing about positive things. He doesn’t say the hardware is good he says, “Still, from a hardware perspective, there’s not a lot to hate.” And he…
It actually comes with tap-to-wake - and sleep - as standard, which probably ought to be mentioned in the article.
Friedrich A. Hayek was a serious economist.

I've lived all over the world, including Europe. The freedoms you so callously denounce, that American's enjoy, are without a doubt more liberating than any other country I've lived in. As to cell service, America has 300 million residents and is three times larger than the entire European Union with vast wide open…
