My favourite song changes every week. Two weeks ago it was Wait for It, then it was Yorktown, now it's Satisfied.

I literally just listened to this last night — it sure sounded to me like she was referencing the WTF episode.

I feel this way about most things these days. Mmmmm… could use more Bill Hader.

Yeah, there's something pretty eye-rolly about having him say "she wants drama" while *quitting the project* because she got angry at him.

I was so skeptical when I started Source Code — "God, how on earth is this going to be interesting?" — but it was funny and charming, and I always find I'm cheering for her when she gets that break, when she makes contact with the person who can answer the question. Even if that question is completely unimportant.

I'm going to venture that part of it is his ubiquity. I like him just fine, and even admire how he turned his life around — but I've also gotten very specific about what Chris Hardwick I take in — I don't think I can do a whole week of @midnight and still enjoy it — but I'll love that one episode I do watch and I love

Shipmates lines up just about exactly with the most severe period of his alcoholism, I'm pretty sure. I've heard him talk about it so many times you'd think I'd have a clearer idea — but it seems like Shipmates was a tipping point, so to speak.

You may want to listen to the first season of StartUp, Gimlet's podcast about the creation of Gimlet — Mystery Show is exactly what Gimlet is trying to do: narrative podcasts that aren't public radio. They are well-funded. I expect monetization efforts are ongoing and developing.

That's just it — entertaining or not, I think Kass is deluded about her role in the game. She seems to think she's contributing a lot more than she is… which makes her unrelenting smugness REALLY hard for me to take.

LOVED it. Great line.

Yeah, I've suspected for a long time that they were eventually going to do that storyline with these two girls — but the show did way more with it than the comic did. It was basically shock value for the comic and we barely knew anything about the twins before it happened.

Ok, to be really nitpicky about this, though… she's a university prof, isn't she? So presumably she'd be working at Carlton or UofOttawa. Why would she be way out of the city? (Obviously they kept saying that, but I was assuming Kanata or Orleans.)

I don't live in Ottawa. The museum thing irked me, too. It's almost the only thing TO do in Ottawa.

I vehemently disagree that it's the only time we're proud to be Canadian — but it's certainly the time we're the loudest about it.

I think it was said explicitly in the comics, because I share your impression — the "pets" were her boyfriend and his best friend.

Paul F. Tomkin's reaction after hearing Paul introduce June on the After Earth episode is one of my favourite moments in the whole run of the podcast.

This is a show I'm starting to like more because of the Paul/June Diane/Jason dynamics than anything else. That episode was worth it, if only for June's genuine distress about the turn the movie took, and the fact that Paul opted to edit the deeeply disturbing Second Opinions on the fly to assist her in her attempt

They sent Kristen home instead of Josie and people flipped right out, largely because Josie had been insubordinate and difficult through the whole task. Kristen ended up dominating Last Chance Kitchen and winning the whole thing. It was funny to see Tom hedge his bets on casting all the blame on the Executive Chef

I thought it was interesting that we got Tom saying that the Exec Chef might not be able to corrall chefs who were competing against him, essentially — which was basically like him saying "remember how last year we sent home the Executive Chef and the internet almost burned us alive?"

Right there with you. Great series, legitimately interesting information.
