It’s one of those jokes that no one really paid much attention to. Just pokes alittle fun at the industry. That is, until people realized it was a real thing, that was really happening. Then the humor was kinda lost.

I always wonder if people watch American History X and agree with the racist rhetoric on the first half of the movie and then miss the whole point of the 2nd half.

For me, the Metal Gear series comes to mind for the way it tends to frame war, or the bussnies of war. I'd say that helped put things in perspective, or at least is a good way to spark thought on the topic.
