Correction: Stabenow and Peters are senators, not representatives.

I disagree, somewhat, with your conclusions. Before we give more money away to buyers of electric cars, our only government should try to figure out why there hasn’t been more progress on the electric car front after years of Uncle Sugar laying lots of cash on their hoods.

The only time I’ve ever seen an auto shutoff fail was to my 8th grade math teacher, who’d pulled into the pump in front of me when I was finishing up filling my mom’s LeBaron.  He was a little slow on the uptake and paid for quite a useless puddle.

That asshole deserved it and I drove away musing about it occasionally

0.3 cents really don’t seem that much.

I have been collecting data on my household’s gas purchases since 2007. I have detailed data on 658 fill ups from this time period so I was able to crunch the numbers.

And while you’re waiting for your car to gas up, why not check out the station’s convenience store?

Gas pricing is generally done in very localized zones, so the statewide advice is pretty silly. Find a reliable local station or two and stick with them. Gas prices are a national obsession that goes WAY beyond their actual impact in most of our lives. Not worth the stress.

I had a great experience with Alaska as well. Flight got delayed numerous times (HOURS) because the FAA at the destination had the airports closed for weather. Alaska paid for breakfast for everybody waiting at the gate, and then brought out the snack cart, and then had a basketball shooting contest. Every other time

Full self driving is, and will continue to be a farce until every vehicle on the road is a self driving vehicle, infrastructure is standardized (signal placement, lane paint, lane paint color, road work signage and lines standardization, and even road cleanliness).  It will take decades for this to be realized.

I don’t know about the other countries, but if I saw something that claimed it was proudly made in Britain, I’d feel like I’d have to start looking for the rest of it

Sometimes the “idiot” grouping deserves defense. Libertarianism is nothing more than recognizing that government exists to restrict freedoms. Right to drive, right to kill, right to buy land. Some are OK to restrict, others vastly not, but it’s a lens that implores some scrutiny which I value.

We don’t have exact timing, but back in 2017, GM promised 20 electric vehicles by 2023

But the minimum required coverage in MOST states is liability only, meaning it covers the damage you do to other peoples cars. If I were making money that I could only afford liability insurance and someone hit me, without insurance, I would have my life destroyed because of someone elses actions, which would set me

It depends on your perspective. If you look at the little locks and the text on the buttons, you would definitely say those are upside down. That’s because, on a flat plane, “up” is forward and and “down” is backwards.

So this is accurate, though, like you said, I could also have used other terms like “oriented the

When I argued that Google’s latest $35 Chromecast disappointed some folks by failing to deliver full-fledged set-top box solution, I was right about that.

Not that I loved or even liked it before, but you’ve made it worse.  Now if you changed the window kick-up on the C-pillar, you might be onto something.

I really want to like Teslas, but those interiors drive me nuts. We bitch about Hondas and their lack of a volume button to twist without taking our eyes off the road. Yet the Tesla interior is called sleek and futuristic. I don’t care if all functions for HVAC, entertainment, etc, are voice activated, thought

the next generation of models will spell out “epic bacon”

Ha, it is with every one of them I’ve ever talked to.
