I really dug the CRX when new. I worked with a guy that had one and rode in it, thought it was a perfect little toy for a guy without kids. I even like this ragtop version a lot, but I just can’t imagine driving something this tiny on a road dominated by massive SUVs. Drivers of those have enough trouble seeing big

Yes, but Bezos has a lot of money. If he could buy Rivian out of BK at a serious discount, it would let him branch into a whole other industry with proven tech, and he could absorb losses until they got the manufacturing costs down. He would probably enjoy sticking his finger in Elmo’s eye as well. Imagine his EV

I really enjoy seeing Cruise play against type like that. Collateral was another good performance by him. He should do those roles more often.

It’s a shame that no one has seriously put out a modest EV other than the Bolt (I don’t consider the Leaf very serious given its styling). All the EV manufacturers get sucked into the assumption that range has to be ~300 miles. I think there could be a market for an EV that had a range of 150-175 miles, especially if

Since Rivian is making the Amazon delivery vans, I could see Bezos buying them at a discount, if nothing else just to make sure the vans keep coming.

I see potential in a Joker sequel, even if I don’t have a lot of hope that it will deliver anything like the first film. What I don’t see any potential in is a sequel to Edge Of Tomorrow. There’s no further character development to be had, and we’ve already had a solid dose of action that doesn’t need to be repeated.

I was a big fan of Stewart’s TDS, watched it every day. But when Noah took over, I gradually lost interest. Now that I’m recording it to watch again, not only do I love Stewart’s work, but I’ve been impressed with Klepper’s and Lydic’s hosting work as well.

The advantage of judicial terms is that each party would have the opportunity to prune the bench when they hold the presidency. This makes the idea of subjecting judicial appointments kinda bi-partisan. I still expect that amending the constitution is pretty much impossible, though.

Thanks, and feel free to use it. I found it somewhere else myself, and use it whenever people start complaining about struggling with a candidate choice. Outside of primaries, the choice is always very clear, even when the choice involves holding your nose.

She’s long been offering free books to children, first in her home county, and has expanded it to across the nation. She was part of the funding for one of the early COVID vaccines, and publicly got her shot. I’ve also read that she quietly pays for high school marching band uniforms.

It has a lot to do with what the parents do about financial difficulty. There’s an aphorism I’ve heard: Wealthy parents teach their children to be owners. Poor parents teach their children to be renters.

For a long time now, I was sure that Toyota had some secret tech that they were going to release that would make fuel cell vehicles practical enough for widespread use. Something like on-the-fly ammonia reformation that would enable liquid fueling that produced hydrogen as needed. But, nothing.

It does have a real Cole Porter quality to it.

The way I look at this is that political candidates are like buses: You get on the one that goes closest to where you need to go. You don’t refuse to get on any bus until there is one going to your front door. You don’t get on a bus going the wrong direction as a protest over the fact that isn’t a bus going to your

we should move on from The Beatles as a culture

I really think that we need a constitutional change to the courts in order to save our system of government. Lifetime appointment to the bench was fine when average life expectancy was under 60, but people can spend way to long as a judge now. Judicial appointments should last for a fixed period, something like 16

I agree about RvW, but Roberts would still happily let claims of religious freedoms and 2nd Amendment issues continue to erode hard-won rights from the past several decades while there is a 5 to 4 conservative majority. And I would bet that he would go along with the continued efforts to eliminate government controls

It’s not even the basic pronunciation that’s so tricky. Once you know a handful of the silent letters you can do a pretty good job. It’s getting the accent right that is so tough. So many sounds have to come from the back of the throat and nasal space in order to not sound like an American high school student.

Of course, even if you get the pronunciation right, the French will roll their eyes at your awful American accent.
