DDR was critical in my weight loss. The feedback of how my scores changed due to what I ate was what kept me on the good diet wagon.
They were not good. When you get to the higher levels, only the real thing will do.

Cut as much sugar as possible. Fill up on veggies. Lots of eggs and bacon haha. No sodas. All water and coffee
Without DDR I would have lost my motivation with the diet. It was the immediate feedback of my scores being higher when I ate better that kept me on the right path.
Because there is no stage like that that compares to the arcade. Also the scoring system in Stepmania is not comparable to DDR. Neither is the timing.
