Depends on how many troops you are trying to insert an MH-6 is like 6 guys a CH-47 is like 40 guys.

I have a 800 flight hours in Afghanistan in a CH-47 and the only time we were ever shot at is when we were on short final or on the low and slow and we tried to minimize those situations. You would be surprised how hard it is to hit a moving aircraft with an RPG.

When you add armor you sacrifice payload. I watched a piece of armor save a mans life in a CH-47. I have pictures of the RPG impact on the armor right where he was sitting. It saved his life but unfortunately he lost his foot because it was resting outside the armor.

What? are you still talking, your rant above is so far off topic. This article was about smaller US Carriers.

Ahhh haha thank you you proved my point if that is all you have no insight, no thought provoking words you are an empty chair. Next time you comment try to have something to add to the conversation.

Same as your not biased and completely rational about homeless people. Your point really makes no sense this is a discussion forum where we really are just writing out our opinions. I was just pointing out that by your comments you have had little to no interaction with the DOD and have no experience to form an

You really don't have any idea how the world works do you?

When I was with 101st we would take a training flights out to Sikeston and Lambert's just happened to be in Sikeston. So since we were in town we had to stop and eat there.

Yes but its all dependent on what they are measuring and in this case its revenue.

When is the last time you bought a Microsoft product and when was you last trip to Costco or better yet how many times have you spent over $100 at Costco.

They sell all of the stuff from the 3 companies mentioned plus way more.

Ya its called Nuclear

If Nukes are used its all a moot point there will be nothing left of either side. That is probably a very good reason they will never be used. Your assertion that the fleet would be nuked is wildly inaccurate at best.

So you have a crystal ball and can see the future?

I cant speak about a V-22 but I was a Chinook crew chief the rotors are physically linked and turn at the same speed the only way they turn at different speeds is if you had a serious failure and followed closely by quick fall to the ground.

I have seen a Chinook out of CG once by loading a 105 on the ramp hinge because we were in a hurry. That did not work so well since the nose took off the tail not so much.

I have auto-rotated several times in a Chinook several time the same bolts that hold the drive shaft together during normal flights are the same bolts that hold the drive shafts together during an auto-rotation.
