Tires, for anyone who's lived with snow as a reality of life this is a dumb question.

@Kelly: That looks like El Toro here in Orange County. Millenworks is only a couple of miles from there. I am assuming the fab of the vehicle was done there.

Now I am bummed. My office is just around the corner from this dealership and happened to be on their test drive loop. I may no longer be serenaded in my office by the continual test drives around the block. I would enjoy the 10 and 12 cylinders being would up from a slow turn through a couple of gears. It made my

@slackinfux: 1996 Impreza weighed in at 2700lbs, you would think that 10+ years of development and making it a "sports car" over an econobox would be able to shave 100lbs......

Has Jalonik learned it's "entertainment" lesson yet? First the nearly unending robogasms over that schlock of a movie Transformers, which was suitably followed up by a healthy dose of Speed Racer fanboyism and then nearly unending KITT-gasms over the build up to this dogs breakfast. I am not here to say I told you

Raceaflais demands sacrifices...

Hey, I saw one of these on the 405 in Irvine just yesterday. I was going to log onto Jalopnik to find out what underwhelming piece of crap it was. Lo and behold I was slightly ahead of the curve yet again.

I can finally see it!!!! I feel almost like a proud uncle. The test mule I first shot in Maranello has finally come into full view. I'll never forget the thrill of seeing it speed away from the gates of the Engineering complex and hear the wail of the unmistkable V8.

I'll run a rally as fast as I possibly can, flat over crests and around blind turns, but I won't get on a motorcycle. I know that getting on a bike is akin to Russian Roulette given my fits of "red mist". Otherwise I am careful about equipment but not fanatical. When my number comes up I want to know I got the most

Having heard it in person, I can say it is even better than these clips represent.

dammit, I sent this site to Wert a while back when there was all the 308 buzz around here. Guess it didn't catch his attention at the time.

Dammit, that's the car I snapped the camera phone pic of back in November. I'm so pround now...... Do I get a cookie or a pile of cash or a drive on that jet drag bike at least?

@saabophile2: the smoothness referred to is the fact that boxer engines typically don't require a harmonic balancer as inline and V engines do. Not the idle which is purposely set much lower than inline 4's because it can be without stalling.

I don't care how I look in my ugly Subaru STi. I do care about how it drives and how it makes me feel. But since it is the latest darling of the fast & furriest crowd I've lost interest in how it looks and am waiting for it to become uncool again so I can maintain the OG status it truly deserves.

Remember FIA is moving to RWD WRC cars soon. This would be the logical choice for Subaru unless Max gets booted and everything turns around. Toyota won't go back to WRC after the total embarassment of being kicked out for cheating but this is a backdoor for them to not lose face and get a hand in rally indirectly

@mechimike: I bought leaded gas for my 68 Cutlass through the mid-90s in Western NY. I believe the labeling was a law implemented when they banned the manufacture of cars that use only leaded. Along with the mandate of the smaller diameter tank inlet that would not allow the "full sized" leaded or diesel nozzles to

All these comments about breaking down and dying are NOT Jalopnik. My Jalopnik has somehow been replaced by Bizzaro Jalopnik and everything is angular and backward. Commenters want a fantasy car that is reliable and safe, not one with insane power to weight ratios that require insane skill to drive let alone master.

3 stars for a vehicle with a horrible gearbox and steering devoid of feel? Not very Jalopnik IMO. I don't understand how a vehicle with these flaws could possibly be enjoyable to drive. I hope you can explain this conundrum in part III.

@Wes Siler: We don't come to Jalopnik for the "scoop" of the first test drive, we come for the test drive info that the other guys don't give us. Your review could very well have found it's way into any of the "buff books" which is why I for one was disappointed to read it even though I knew I was not a fan of the

I read the review several time but can only assume that this phrase "...you realize what we have here is something entirely new." refers only to the spiffy rear diff, as there is nothing else new going on here. I point to the Cayenne/Toureg, Murano and other BMW x's as examples.
